A : Use any free download managers to download full distributive or download game in zipped parts:
Part1
Part2
Part3
Part4
Part5
A : That means that you have lost connection during download and WoB distributive is broken. Use any of free Download Managers ( Flashget or Download Master) to download full distributive without problems or use links to zip archived files that are displayed in previous question.
A : That means that you cant connect to our update server. It may be caused by many antiviruses or by firewall installed on your PC. Try to disable or configure that software on your pc, but probably you will need to uninstall it to play game normally.
A : Set your videocard in settings in launcher window like here.
A : Be sure that you installed DirectX from our distributive if no find it`s installation in support folder in the path you installed the game.
Also disable your antivirus before executing launcher and try to launch it several times (some antiviruses kill it instantly first time).
If it does not help redownload game again, and install it in default folder.
A: World of Battles game sessions use network topology. One player chooses to host the game for the duration of the battle (and it can be anyone, not only the owner!). “Can’t host” means that a particular player is unable to host that battle. Which doesn't mean that you will be unable to play, as any of the other players involved can act as the host for that game. Provided at least one of the players is able to host the game the battle will start as normal.
The ability to become a host depends upon your network settings and the type of Internet connection. If you are running into this area repeatedly please try to setup port forwarding which may correct the issue.
We are going to set up the game's proxy servers to help overcome this difficulty. However it's always more effective to be able to host the games in order to decrease the game's latency and any potential lag between players and server.
A: Latency represents how much time is necessary for the data to go from one point to another. In this case it’s the number of milliseconds necessary for the data from your computer to reach other players and the return. If a player sees latency numbers that means he is able to serve as a game's host.
A: There is a “Change Settings” button in the updater window. Also more graphic settings are in Settings menu in Main Menu in game.
A: That means that not everying is 100% stable, balanced or working correctly. We do our best to correct any problems or bugs that occur. If the game crashes, the next time you start the game you’ll see an automatically generated window that allows you to send us a bug report. After you send us a report we will analyze it, and if the crash occurred as a result of an in-game bug do our best to get it fixed as quickly as possible so that you won't run into it again.
Bug reports usually average about 0.5 – 1.5 Mb in size depending on how many games you played during your last session. Please submit bug reports whenever you run into a problem, and be sure to wait until the report as finished sending. Sending these reports to us is a great help in our efforts to refine and improve your World of Battles experience.
A: Logs are files where programs store data relating to their internal processes. World of Battles game logs keep information about your actions during the game (passwords and other personal information are not stored in these logs). Logs can be found in your “game installation folder”/release/Log. Each time you start the game a separate file is created for the corresponding time and date. Logs are not deleted automatically so if you play frequently they can eventually take up quite a lot of space. If the clutter bothers you, you can always delete any logs which are a week or more old. We are currently planning to add a feature which will automatically delete old game logs for you.
A: If an administrator asks you to attach a game log you need to look in the Log folder described above to find the log with the requested date and time, compress (zip) the file and attach it to a post in the World of Battles forum. It would be helpful if you would also include the crashlog.txt file which is in the folder /release.
Gameplay:
[ Q: How to start the battle correctly? ]
A : Launch the game, and enter the Battleground by clicking “To Battle”. Make sure you have an active army (you can check this by clicking “Manage Army”). Then you can join an existing battlefield or create your own. Be sure to pay attention to the Army Points (AP) settings; the value of the forces participating in a battle can generally differ by about 15% (you can change an army's value by adding or removing units before a battle begins). The battle will begin after all players have pressed “Ready” and the battle's owner presses “Start”. After the battle is loaded you’ll have one minute to deploy your units. If you finish before the time limit press “Ready”; the battle will begin once all players have finished deploying their forces. After that the only thing left to do is win the battle. Good luck!
A: AP stands for Army Points. This is a universal index of power, defense and general profit of an army or unit. The AP of an army depends on the individual AP of every unit it is composed of. The AP of a unit depends not only on its type (infantry, cavalry, pikemen or archers) but also on its statistics (attack, defense, movement and so on). A unit’s AP doesn’t depend directly on its experience and rank. You spend experience to upgrade a unit's statistics, which will in turn affect the unit's overall AP.
A: The most efficient way of doing this is to buy more units. The bigger your army is the more tactical options you will have at your disposal. You can also use purchase new equipment for the unit, and spend experience to upgrade that unit's statistics, both of which will increase its AP value.
A: Money and experience are awarded based on the results of a battle. The final award is primarily determined by the AP of the enemy forces, and your final standing at the end of the game (whether you one or lost the battle). Even losing a battle isn't the end of world as far as these awards go, as the losing force will receive a bonus if it fought bravely. But the short answer is: the more you play, the more money and experience you earn.
A:Gems are premium game currency. Gems are not awarded for participating in battles, but are instead may be purchased.
A:There are different levels of subscription – Captain, Marshal and Overlord. The most useful feature of subscriptions starts from Marshal, and it's the ability to buy for Gold all items and equipment which are normally sold for Gems! Also, all subscribers get bonuses to Gold and XP their armies receive on the battlefield, are able to include units of other races into their armies and to field more units. Subscribers with experienced armies can purchase units with higher experience levels, too.
And remember that bonuses of subscriptions apply to all of your armies, thus multiplying the benefits!
